As MNM Managing Partner Melaku Yirga brings over 20 years of experience in designing, and leading strategies to build resilient market systems in over 12 countries in Africa including Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda.

He offers deep experience in implementation, results, and management of high-profile portfolio of MSD programming. Along with excellent program management skills, Melaku is also highly adept in technical implementation, experienced in the areas of market systems development (MSD), financial inclusion, agriculture, gender equity and social inclusion, youth and workforce development, resilience, food security, peacebuilding, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E). Trained and certified professional in M4P from the Springfield Centre, Melaku has demonstrated experience in mentoring and coaching teams in MSD facilitation and leadership.

He has completed a yearlong Entrepreneurial Leadership Program from Portland State University, attended high profile Leadership Development Program (PDP) from the Centre for Creative Leadership, and recently completed Masters Degree in International Business Administration from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Melaku has also Masters degree in Rural Development.

Mesfin brings over 25 years of leadership experience in international development serving as Chief of Party (CoP), Deputy Country Director, and Program Director in Ethiopia, Sudan, and Uganda managing resilience, livelihoods strengthening, food security and nutrition, market systems development and research and learning activities.
Mesfin has worked with international development and research organizations, including Tufts University, Mercy Corps, ACDI VOCA, Save the Children, CHF, FARM Africa and Action Aid. Mesfin’s specific technical expertise include design and management of food security, agriculture and pastoral development, market systems strengthening, disaster risk reduction, and institutional capacity building programs with sound understanding of regulations and procedures, across a broad range of donors including USAID, DFID, EU, CIDA, Irish Aid, and the UN.
With Tufts University in Uganda Mesfin led resilience learning and coordination of development activities with a primary focus on policy research, knowledge management and coordination between donors, multilaterals, and Government of Uganda (GOU).
Mesfin led and participated in multiple consultancy assignments to undertake baseline and endline assessments, program design, strategic planning, feasibility studies, training, organizational capacity and needs assessment missions.
Mesfin holds a Master of Arts degree in Development Studies from Addis Ababa University, MBA+ certificate in Entrepreneurial Leadership Program (ELP) from Portland State University and a BSc in Agriculture from Alemaya University.

Netsaalem is entrepreneur, economist and market systems development specialist. He brings over 17 years of proven experience in the private sector and international humanitarian and development organizations; 13 years of which have been in management and technical leadership positions in Eastern and Southern Africa regions.

Netsaalem has managed multiple complex development programme portfolios and private sector project with the total value an excess of 200 million dollars benefiting/targeting over a million households.

Netsaalem's experience ranges working for an international company to multiple international NGOs such as Mercy Corps, MEDA, TechnoServe, DAI and GOAL Global. He has worked in wide ranges of donor funded projects from USAID, ODFA, CIDA, SIDA, DFID, Shell Foundation and the Mastercard Foundation.
As market systems development expert and senior manager, Netsaalem hold Master of Science degree in Finance (Major in Economic Policy) from the University of London and Master of Science degree in Rural Development and Agricultural Extension in (Communication and Innovation), and BA in Economics from Haramaya University. He is certified in a one-year Entrepreneurial Leadership Program (ELP) from Portland State University. He has attended the Making Market Work (M4P) training conducted by Springfield center, in Glasgow, UK. Netsaalem is also a core trainer in Economic and Market Development (M4p), Emergency Market Mapping and Analysis (EMMA), Minimum Economic Recovery Standard trainings (MERS) and TOT trainer on Cash Transfer Programing.
