David currently specializes in project management with over eleven years as Chief of Party of USG funded programs of over $20 million). This is part of 45 years of development experience in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Ukraine designing, managing, monitoring, evaluating and providing technical advice on a range of technical areas including agriculture, food security, organizational development, humanitarian assistance and HIV prevention. He has conducted several successful project designs for USG, GFATM and DFID. He has implemented bilateral, multilateral and foundation funded programs.

He also manages relationship with partners and authorities such as Customs and revenue Authority and providing training for staff.  

Efrem brings over 10 years of professional experience gained from working for an international and local companies as well as public enterprises.

A committed humanitarian and development professional and team leader with more than 20+ years of proven experience in designing, managing, MEAL and consulting various emergency, recovery, food security and livelihoods (FSL) and resilience projects in insecure areas of Eastern Africa (Ethiopia, South Sudan, Somalia, and Northern Kenya) and Central Asia (Afghanistan). Ermias’s experience entails managing large programs/projects and leading teams having successfully led the complete project cycle management of various FSL, value chain/market system development and resilience projects funded by various agencies (USAID, EU, UN OCHA/FAO, GIZ, IFAD, BMZ and JICA). Fasil has several years of technical and managerial experience in rural/pastoralist area development and humanitarian programming in various countries including Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Yemen. Since 2013, Henok has worked in different capacity in different ministries and agencies in Ethiopia. For the last six years, he is working as an advisor as information and public opinion analyst, media monitoring and analysis and communication.

 Henok graduateed in BSc degree in Political Science and International Relations in great distinction. His specialazation and practical experiences are in the areas of  economic, social and development policy and  analyst in diplomatic and political economy in Ethiopia. Currently he is conducting a research for his double Masters degree thesis in Development Policy; and Regional and Local Development Studies (MA) at Addis Ababa University.

Jemal beings 18 years professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, humanitarian response, campaign and advocacy, and development programs. Jamel has worked for an international and national NGOs, as well as in the public sector in Ethiopia.

Jemal has led and advised multiple donor-funded development and humanitarian programs as monitoring, evaluation and adaption specialist and manager. His main technical competency  includes data quality management, qualitative and quantitative techniques, mobile and manual data collection, data analysis- including use of statistical software, evaluation design, techniques for presenting information, management and leadership, capacity development and training, knowledge management, community-based feedback, and response mechanisms.

Jemal has graduated from Haramaya University in Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics in 2013. Currently he is writing his thesis for  MA degree in Development Management from Dire Dawa University.

JETON STAROVA is a seasoned development worker and manager with more than 26 years’ experience in agricultural value chains, market systems and rural economic development programs. And also Juton Starova has exhaustive practical experience in managing and providing technical input in implementing donor funded cooperative agreements and contracts (USAID, USDA, SDC, WB, EU) in Southeast Europe, Central Asia, Northeast Asia, East Africa, and Caucasus. Specializing in facilitation of agricultural market systems development for accelerated rural livelihoods improvement, agribusiness SMEs competitiveness and employment generation. Focusing on social and economic development through integration of workforce and skills development, increasing access to finance, improvement of business environment, increasing productivity and competitiveness for comprehensive and sustainable development as well as development and support of public and private agricultural and agribusiness extension and advisory services

Lorena holds  an  honours  degree  in  Agriculture  and  a Master´s  Degree  in  Agribusiness  from the  University  of  Melbourne, Australia. Lorena for the last 15 years have  been  working with  private  sector  companies  in  the agriculture market system. She has a hands-on experience working with  agricultural inputs distributors  as  well as companies in the output market  helping businesses to apply long term  growth strategies and focusing on the  customer segments that can bring value  to  the companies.

Lorena has grants management experience on donor funded projects. Recently, she has served as Portfolio Manager on a USAID funded  multimillion dollar market system development project in Mozambique.

Mahlet Seifu Woldeabraham is a development professional with more than 13 years of experience. Mahlet is a qualified Team Leder/Program Manager and a global facilitator of Program Management. Mahlet’s technical lead expertise spans across private sector engagement in development and humanitarian projects, women, and youth engagement to enhance and diversify economic opportunities. She has led facilitation of Market systems development training for team members and partner organizations. Mahlet is passionate about enhancing women economic engagement where she led a pilot Childcare service at a Workplace and in public primary schools in the capital of Ethiopia-Addis Ababa which has gone to scale now highly contributing to increased income of mothers who are already in the workforce and are joining the workforce in sustaining and creating employment opportunity. 
In addition to the broader technical lead, she has been leading market assessment, intervention design, planning and co-creation with private and public sector partners. Martina Akello is a seasoned Finance and IT professional, currently working in an international non-government organisation as a Project Manager for a Trade Facilitation project based in Uganda. She has over 6 years for experience in management consulting, advisory, and market systems development. She has delivered pragmatics solutions to an array of clients that include Development Partners, SMEs, Investors and Government entities. Her core technical skills and competencies include project management, people management, strategy development, data analysis, report writing and effective communication. She has experience in project delivery in the sectors of Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Financial Services and Trade.

Martina has a Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering from Makerere University Uganda, and has successfully completed her studies in Accounting (Association for Chartered Accountants – ACCA Certification). In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, and travel.
 

Maru Shete holds PhD degree in Agricultural and Development Economics. He is working as a Senior Researcher with a rank of  Associate Professor at the Ethiopian Civil Service University. He has several years of teaching and research experience in higher learning (and Research) institutions in Ethiopia. Maru has published several articles and book chapters about land governance, land-use change, livelihoods, food security, impact studies, microfinance institutions, and project performance evaluation. His areas of interest include Impact evaluation,  monitoring & evaluation of projects, livelihood and food security studies, market analysis & institutional studies.

Melaknesh is market systems development and livelihoods programing professional with over 15 years of experience; of which over 7 years has been in different managerial and leadership and technical leadership positions. Over a decade and half work experience, Melaknesh has implemented over 30 Million dollars programs funded by different donors such as DFID, SIDA, and USAID. She has led and served as technical specialist on complex market systems development and emergency programs while working for international organizations such as DAI, Save the Children International, Catholic Relief Services, CARE and SOS Sahel.

Currently, as Thematic Lead: Aid and Labor sectors for Strengthening Host and Refugee Population in Ethiopia (SHARPE) program with DAI, Melaknesh oversees Portfolio Management Team and multiple value chain development and labor markets for refuge and host employment. Michelle holds a PhD in Business Management form Nelson Mandela University, Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Makerere University Business School and an MBA and Bachelors in Leisure and hospitality management from Makerere University. 

Muluken is a BSC Nurse registered and licensed by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Food Medicine and Health Care Administration Authority. After graduating in Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing , Muluken for the last 10 years has been working as professional nurse and community based health care services.  Currently, he is working as Senior Mobile health and Nutrition Officer at International Medical corps. Muluken has excellent experience in as a nurse and community-based health care services. He has also attended different professional health and nutrition related trainings.

Nurelegn is a professional accounting, investment, and finance expert working for the

 last 13 years in five different international and multinational industrial and agricultural

companies in Ethiopia. Nurelegn for the last 5 years has been serving as Chief Finance Officer

(CFO). As

CFO and finance manager, managed over 100 million USD investment capital and

international finance/trade of these companies. In his 13 work experience nine of

which in senior leadership positions, developed strong working relationships with key

stakeholders in government, the non/agricultural investment ecosystems, financial

 sector such as National Bank and Commercial banks of Ethiopia.

Rafael Uaiene has 37 years of experience working in areas as vast as agricultural policy planning, analysis and research; Market Systems Development, Development Finance, agricultural programming; agricultural research; teaching and outreach. He was a lead contributor of the first generation of the Agricultural Sector Strategy Development Program also known as PEDSA (2011-2020) and the first ever Agricultural Research Strategic Plan for the National Agricultural Research Institute (IIAM). 


He is currently the team lead for the development of the second generation of the Agricultural Sector Development Strategy and its Investment Plan for Mozambique.


Mr Uaiene, as Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Manager with Feed the Future Agricultural Innovations (FTF-Inova), implemented by DAI and Technoserve, he led the development of the FTF-Inova Monitring, Evaluation and Learning as well as Environmental Mitigation Plan for FTF-Inova.

Raul offers over 20 years of experience in agricultural research, project management, monitoring, evaluation, and learning on food security and agricultural development programs in Mozambique. Raul spent the past 15 years working on numerous USAID-funded agricultural programs focusing his efforts on ensuring effective measuring of impact and performance. Robert Okello Omach is Markets and Private Sector development specialist with 13 years of experience in building competitive market systems and private sector in Agriculture and Energy in Uganda and Tanzania, both at national and sub-national levels. Robert has managed and implemented MSD projects in Agriculture, Employment and Energy. Robert has also managed 2 investment funds worth 6 million Euros.  

Robert holds an MBA from Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Milan and is concluding a Master’s Degree in International Business from Makerere University Business School (MUBS), Kampala. 
Robert has practical experience in project initiation and implementation, Effective MSD/PSD project team building and management, MSD trainings, fund set-up and management, business coaching and technical support, Entrepreneurship ecosystem facilitation as well as global business/trade advisory.

Samrawit is a public health and public health nutrition expert with over 8 years’ experience in different capacities. She has worked for 4 years in different government health centers. Sarah Namee Wambete holds a Master’s degree in Reproductive Health Sciences from University of Ibadan in Nigeria and an honours degree in Community Health at Uganda Christian University.

Sarah is currently working as the Program Officer at Save the Mothers East Africa, an NGO based in Uganda at Uganda Christian University that focuses on Maternal and Child Health (MCH). She has work experience spanning up to about 8 years in Public Health, human nutrition, health education, project management, monitoring & evaluation and reproductive health including research. Sarah has conducted research on “Male involvement in Family Planning”. She is an experienced Public Health Worker. Talew is a pastoral development expert with over 28 years of professional experience. He specializes in pastoral livelihoods, natural resource management, climate change adaptation, disaster risk management and program coordination.

 Talew has an extensive experience of working in pastoral areas in Ethiopia. Has rich experience working with indigenous systems in the areas of participatory natural resource management and governance, strengthening indigenous early warning system and creating synergy and collaboration with the scientific world. He has also technically supported and advised on the eradication and control of Peste Petits Ruminants (PPR) and other Small Ruminant Diseases that are aligned to the Global, Pan African and IGAD region strategies. He has also led and technically coordinated Livestock Related Emergency Interventions including Nutrition Sensitive Livestock based Emergency Interventions.

He has been conducted and participated in various studies and assessments like Study on Innovative Livestock Feed Solution, Scoping Study on Livestock Health Service Improvement and Community based Irrigated Forage Development, Rapid assessment on Live Animal and Meat Export Market using Emergency Market Mapping Analysis (EMMA) tools, joint monitoring and evaluation of FAO funded emergency agricultural interventions and Private Veterinary Pharmacy Establishment. He also acquired Certificate on Project in a Controlled Environment from PRINCE 2 Agile, AXELOS, England London, Certificate on Household Economy Analysis (HEA) from Food Economy Group (FEG), Rwanda Kigali, Certificate on Pro-poor Value Chain and Actor Empowerment from IIRR and Royal Tropical Institute, Addis Ababa and Certificate on Field tools for Effective Detection and Control of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza from United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Addis Ababa. He has been recently participated in Evaluation study on Last Mile Project implemented by Boehringer Ingelheim (B.I) in Ethiopia which is funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicines (GALVmed).

Zelalem is an Agriculturalist by profession and has over 16 years of experience on designing; implementing, monitoring and evaluation of programs related to economic and market system development, resilience program, livelihood, youth employment, enterprise development, value chain development, food security, agricultural research and technology transfer. He has also extensive experience in conducting labor and agricultural market assessments, facilitating different technical trainings, establishing and managing micro and small enterprises, linking youth and women led groups to different training opportunities and financial service providers, developing partnership and working with various public, private and community-based organizations.

 Zelalem holds MSc. Degree in Rural development and Agricultural Extension and certified trainer of Inclusive market system development.

Zena is a communication, knowledge management, capacity building and development professional. Zena brings over 15 years experience in academic institutions and international organizations such as the World Bank Group and FAO. Currently, he is  working for the World Bank Group in the Environment, Natural Resources and Blue economy portfolio as a communications and knowledge management specialist.

Zena holds MSc degree in Rural Development and Agricultural Extension (specializing in Agricultural Communication and Innovation) and BSc in Applied Mathematics (minor in computer science). Zena is one of the 2017 Mandela Washington Fellows who attended the Business and Entrepreneurship Fellowship program at Purdue University, USA. He also attended various skill development training in Ethiopia and abroad.
